well, work has been getting more boring each day. it's been a year..and it is just getting worse. i salvaged a stack of archie comics from the bf's place last weekend, and i'm ploughing through them at work. work is so bad that i could come up with the thought of rationing the comics! max 2 a day, one for the morning, one in the afternoon. on top of that i've got the life! and classified section of the straits times to read too. why only the life and classified section? coz my family orders two sets of newspapers. One set left at home. my bro takes the main paper of the other set to read on the train while getting to work, while i take the stuff he doesn't read.

me and my lab partner (yes, it's just two of us in the lab) had a crazy time today. we decided to prepare some test solutions for standby purposes. we had been running on the reserves the previous pair of lab techs prepared. for a particular solution, we had to mix ammonia solution with ammonium chloride and edta. the lab is not equipped with a suction vent, so we compromised! i opened the lab door to enable circulation of air, angled the window unit aircon to blast the air out the door, and we put on masks and gloves before beginning. the pungent ammonia was so strong, we ran out of the lab a couple of times just to breathe in fresh air. ha.. well, if you are a health official/work place safety officer, you'd probably be alarmed by this. but oh well. a day in the miserable life of a lab tech.

i've been thinking about a number of things i want to do. i want to have a picnic, i want to go prawn fishing, and i want to go swimming.

a picnic with food made by me! i want to make all the little sandwiches, using different breads, filled with tuna, egg mayo, ham & cheese, sardines. i want to poke those cute cocktail sausage on sticks with pineapple chunks. i want to bake muffins or cupcakes. i want to prepare a nice potato or pasta salad and get the fabulous coleslaw recipe from the bf's mum. top everything off with a nice cool cider or juice or a warm tea/coffee. ahhh.. that's the life.

prawning seems like a fun thing alot of people are raving about. i wanna check out what all the fuss is about. besides.. i love eating prawns! the best prawns i've had outside the family radius, is at no signboard. the drunken prawns are damn good. the server brings a box of live prawns and drowns them in rice wine. he gives the box a firm shake or two then dumps the live prawns into a steamboat of herbal soup. feast for the eyes and the tummy. craving for it now. dammit.
